The 1936 recording is the second electric recording of The Mikado on the HMV label, and the first D'Oyly Carte recording to feature Martyn Green in the principal-comedian role. Other principle players include Derek Oldham and Darrell Fancourt, both of whom reprise their roles in the 1926 version. This recording was previously combined with the 1926 Mikado in our CD set GS16.
